dreamweaver fatal exception
Dreamweaver encountered a fatal exception. Dreamweaver will now terminate.
I get the above error message from time to time, typically after I have changed something in a template that didn’t get built using dreamweaver. This error message appears and then Dreamweaver closes. Have tried starting it again but as soon as I work on that template then I have the same problem. I am using Windows XP and Dreamweaver version 6.
This is what I do.
In windows explorer>tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders>ok
In windows explorer>C drive>documents and settings>user name>application data>macromedia>dreamweaver mx>configuration>site cache>delete any docs relating to this site and any folders relating to this site
Then go back and make a change to the template>save – message, the sites cache is missing and will be recreated - this happens automatically - then I am back up and running as normal.
That works for me on my machine with this error.
I got the basis for this from www.dmxzone.com and they have loads more info about other systems.
