one pound of weight is worth 3 seconds per kilometer

One of the factors that will affect how long it takes you to run a set distance is surely how much you weigh. Weigh too much and it will slow you down, weigh too little and you won't have the muscle to propel you.

Looking at the impact of being overweight, the suggestion was that losing 1lb of weight will improve your running time by 3 seconds per kilometer. Not sure what I think about the detail of this one but it could be a helpful belief in some circumstances.
